Hi, my name is Cracker Jacks, CJ to my friends, but I am actually the prize found inside the sweet package known as LBR. I’m a medium-sized fellow weighing in at about 68 lbs. and am probably heading towards two years old. As you can tell by my photos I’m a flashy brindle but what you can’t tell is I have a flashy personality and enough energy to be known as “The Flash”. I can leap 6’ high and play fetch for the longest time, if you can.
With all my energy my foster family is working with me on all sorts of commands and relaxation techniques. I am a great sitter and fetcher, I now release on command, and I’m working hard on the commands off, stay, down, leave-it and come. I also get to go on walks, a couple of miles in distance, where I practice my heal command. I need a lot of reminding, in the beginning of my walks, but usually get to being in position, on my own, by the end of the walk. I’m learning but with all my energy I’ll need continued training to keep me settled and focused. I definitely need my off command as I tend to being a jumper but I’ve already reduced that urge by about 75% and listen pretty well to my foster family when they command me off something.
I get along great with my foster boxer brother and sister. We play and run together in the backyard and we sometimes sleep together on the dog couch. I usually stay in my crate when my foster family is away but they have recently let me sleep outside the crate at night. I like to play with stuffed toys, rope or nyla-bones, and rubber bones that I play fetch with these days. I need one of my durable toys in my crate or I might chew on my blanket or bed. My foster family is working with me not to chew on non-toy things when I get bored. I used to play with tennis balls but they say I get too obsessed over my tennis balls and so now I don’t ever see tennis balls, but I play fetch with my rubber bones and I chase after them and release them on command. It is great fun for me.
I am a healthy fellow who is heartworm negative. In a few weeks I should be available to go meet people. If you think I might be a possible match for your family why don’t you have your people call my people and we’ll make a date.
